R&D Projects

CINERGIA origin can be traced back to the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), where the company founder's worked in an R&D center specialized in the design and developement of customized power converters and technology transfer. For this reason, CINERGIA has been always close to the leading-edge technology and the specific necessities of universities and R&D projects.

This project is a FP-7 project funded by the European Commission and led by the Cardiff University (UK).

NOVARE is an ENDESA prize that the company uses to promote investigation in energy fields. The 2010 edition was won by CITCEA-UPC and IREC and its investigation was in the field of V2M (vehicle to microgrid) situation. This means that electric vehicles may act as energy suppliers in case that grids may need.

The Formula Student is a competition which is held annually around the world to promote excellence among a wide variety of teams that had worked throughout the year in the design and construction of a single-seater racing car .

EMERGE is an INNPACTO 2010 project funded by the Spanish Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación.

It investigates and develop systems for the offshore wind generation in deep waters.

CINERGIA has provided the converter and the control of the multipolar motor/generator.

This project has the purpose of doing research and development in fast chargers for high efficiency batteries for electric vehicles.

This activity is founded by the Spanish Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad, within the program INNCORPORA 2011 INC-TU-2011-1600

Design and implementation of control of an microgrid for an experimental wastewater treatment plant:

 • 40kw solar and small wind generation
 • NiCd battery storage
 • Communication via RS485 converters
 • Consumption management via CAN
 • Embedded PC

The Charge and Ride Project is a research project cofunded by FEDER  through Catalan Government (ACC10 office), works in the improvement of the energy efficiency in the rail system, understood as a subsystem of a microgrid.

The E3V is a research project cofunded by FEDER  through Catalan Government (ACC10 office), for finding strategies and develop systems to improve the efficiency of the electrical vehicles.

Research project cofunded by FEDER  through Catalan Government (ACC10 office), oriented to the creation of new products and services around the DER (Distributed Energy Resources) concept introducing Electrical Vehicles.

The project uses as investigation platform the IREC's microgrid supplied by CINERGIA.
