A smart grid is an electrical grid that uses information and communications technology to gather and act on information, such as information about the behaviours of suppliers and consumers, in an automated fashion to improve the efficiency, reliability, economics, and sustainability of the production and distribution of electricity.

The equipments we produce are designed and built to satisfy all real requirements (as per exemple IEC 618510 communications) with real power managing.

Generic Description: 
The Bidirectional Battery Charger is a regenerative AC/DC converter designed to generate a controlled DC output from 12 to 750V. Its main application is the charge and discharge of batteries, or other DC storage systems. It produces important energy savings in battery testing or characterization when regenerating the stored energy to the grid.

CINERGIA’s DC Programmable Power Supplies are regenerative power supplies designed to generate a controlled DC source or load. This equipment has energy recovery capability which allows saving energy during the working period by returning the energy to the mains (saves up to 92%).

Battery Emulator is a regenerative AC to DC converter designed to behave like real batteries. It is a software option of the B2C+ with a DC output, for a single unit, from 20 to 750V (800V with the HV option). It is possible to serialize units to reach up to 1500V or to parallelize units to increase the power and current. Thanks to the Separated Channel Operation (included up to 54kW) each unit can be used as 3 completely different DC Regenerative Power Supplies in a single cabinet.

The Universal Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Element, uDERe, is an AC/AC converter that emulates different kind of systems found on smartgrids. Through software configuration, the emulator can be programmed to behave as a generator, storage or load.

Electronic loads are designed to test equipment and applications where linear and non linear loads are required. The equipment is programmable in order to facilitate the use in industrial and R&D environments. The regenerative functionality allows the use of the equipment in applications where the test needs long time to stabilization, for example in temperature stabilization for power equipment like UPS or transformers in production verification. The equipment can work with low voltages because it has a Boost Converter for adapt the voltage levels and allowing the energy recovery to the power grid.

Grid emulators are specially designed for emulate grid disturbances. Each equipment integrates VSC modules and DSP control boards equipped with all necessary power components, electrical protections, auxiliary electronics and security elements. The power electronics unit of each emulator is a back to back topology formed by 2 voltage source converters connected in series. It is a multifunctional AC-AC converter that shows a wide range of applications.
